We are eager to introduce to you the latest addition to our communication channels. In this blog, you will find current and topical blog posts written by and about both students and entrepreneurial-minded people. Topics we’re particularly interested in are entrepreneurship, business and self-development, as well as sharing what is currently happening in our association and the community around us.
I am Mika Leminen, content producer of LaureaES this year, and my main responsibility is to make these blog posts happen. I feel really good about getting to write content for this blog for the following three reasons:
Firstly, I have always enjoyed writing about things I am interested in. Entrepreneurship, business and self-development as subjects are fascinating to me. All of them can be used to change one’s life for the better and there are always new things to learn about them.
Secondly, I want to improve my writing skills in English. As a native Finnish speaker, I think it is important to keep your other language skills sharp, because the world of today is global. The more languages you can communicate in, the more opportunities you have in your career and life overall.
Thirdly, I want to develop my content producing skills. I am aiming to get work in the content marketing field in the future. One of my biggest strengths is writing and I want to do a lot of writing in my everyday work life. I have had some personal blog projects before, but this is the first organizational blog I will be producing content for, and that feels exciting!
Skills for life
In Laurea Entrepreneurship Society, you get to practice skills that are important for your career. It is also something to include in your portfolio. For me, writing these blog posts is one of those skills. For others, it might be social media marketing, graphic design, leadership, or event management skills. In our community, you can also spar and develop your business ideas and network with awesome people. LaureaES also offers incubator and accelerator programs, Hatch Incubator Program and Cambridge Venture Camp, where aspiring entrepreneurs can participate and develop their business ideas through professional guidance.
“I’ve learned that starting a business isn’t just throwing something at the world and hoping that it works. It requires patience, hard work and perseverance.”
– Rasheed Ataruwa, Chairperson of LaureaES and winner of Hatch Incubator Program 2018
